Wave Server Installation Guide

Digital station module.
Depending on the specific model, supports 12 or 24 digital
station ports. See page 4-24.
•
T1 module with serial interface.
Supports a single T1 ISDN PRI digital trunk. It
features an integrated CSU/DSU, and allows shared data and voice services over a
single T1 circuit. See page 4-25.
•
T1 module (without serial interface).
Supports a single T1 ISDN PRI digital trunk.
See page 4-26.
•
E1 EuroISDN module with serial interface.
Supports a single E1 ISDN digital trunk.
It features an integrated CSU/DSU, and allows shared data and voice services over
a single E1 circuit. See page 4-26.

Quad BRI module.
Supports 4 ISDN Basic Rate Interface (BRI) digital trunks and
up to 8 simultaneous voice calls, and provides connectivity between the Wave
Server and Central Office (CO) equipment supporting Euro-ISDN BRI
communication protocols. See page 4-27.
•
Cards
are full-width boards that support more ports than modules do. Cards can be
installed in the universal card slots in the base unit or in EXUs.
The following cards are available:

Analog station card.
Supports 24 analog FXS station ports. See page 4-28.
•
Digital station card.
Supports 24 or 48 digital station ports. See page 4-28.

Expansion Units (EXUs)
An EXU provides 2 universal slots that can each support one module or card. Up to 4 modular
EXUs can be mounted on top of the Wave Server base unit. A fully expanded system with 4
EXUs provides 8 additional universal slots.
