About the Wave IP 2500 Server
The Wave IP 2500 Server consists of the following components.
•
Wave Server base unit. See the next section.
•
Power supply. See page 4-4.
•
Expansion options, including expansion cards and modules, Expansion Units (EXUs),
and the Media Resource Modules (MRMs). See page 4-4.
Important:
A monitor, keyboard, and mouse are not included with and are not supported on
the Wave Server. You use the administrator PC, described in Chapter 5, to configure and
manage Wave. Connecting a monitor and keyboard or mouse to the Wave Server may be
advised by Vertical Technical support for troubleshooting purposes only.
About the Wave IP 2500 Server base unit
The Wave IP 2500 Server base unit consists of the following:
•
A 19-inch rack-mountable chassis that includes room for expansion.
•
The Wave Integrated Services Card (ISC1), an embedded processor that provides primary
system control including voice processing and packet switching elements.
•
One solid-state drive (SSD) and one large-storage hard disk drive (HDD).
Important:
This dual-drive configuration is provided on all new Wave Servers, and is
the preferred configuration for all Wave Servers going forward. Contact your Wave
provider for information about available upgrade paths for existing Wave Servers.
