Chapter 10: Installing the Wave Recording Archive Service

Full Control privileges into the \\WaveIP\Buffer folder
. This requires an account on the
Archive Server PC with permissions on the Wave Server. To do so, you must do one of
the following:
• You must have a domain in place and give the domain user account Full Control
privileges into the WaveIP\Buffer folder.
-or-
• You must add the Everyone options to the Shared and Security permissions on the
Buffer folder and then assign Full Control. This means that anyone able to browse
the Wave Server will be able to access the archived recordings. If this is not done,
archiving will fail (for example when you press
Archive Now
to manually archive
call recordings as described in Chapter 22 in the Wave Global Administrator
Guide ).
Installation steps
Important: Be sure that the account you use to install the Recording Archive Service meets
the requirements described in “Installer account requirements” on page 10-5.
1. Identify an archive server PC that meets all of the requirements listed on page 10-3. This
is the PC where you will install the Recording Archive Service.
Caution:
The Recording Archive Service should not be installed on the Wave Server for
performance reasons.
To create your archive folder:
2. In Windows Explorer, create the archive folder on a disk that meets all of the
requirements described on page 10-5.
Important:
You only need to create a single archive folder, even if you are archiving
mailbox recordings from multiple Wave Servers. All Wave Servers automatically archive
to a separate subfolder within the main archive folder.
3. Set the archive folder’s sharing to EVERYONE, and set logon rights to ANONYMOUS.
