Wave Server Installation Guide
7.
Once the upgrade process starts, you will be alerted on the progress of the upgrade via the
SNMP Alarms applet.
8.
Minimize the SNMP Alarms window so that you can see the next message:
“Upgrade Status upgrade request successful. Instant Office System upgrade will
start momentarily.”
Click
Done
to continue.
9.
Restore the SNMP Alarms window. You can monitor the progress of the upgrade by
noting the messages that are displayed, for example “Unpacking Upgrade”, “Applying
Upgrade”, and so forth.
The message “Connection with the System is Lost or System May be Down” is a normal
part of the upgrade process, and usually indicates that Wave is executing a restart of some
or all services. This message will be followed by “Connection is restored with system.”
Depending on the type of HotFix you are applying, this sequence may happen more than
once, especially on a Service Pack or major software release. Allow the system to
complete all upgrade processes—the final message in the SNMP window should read
“Upgrade Completed.”
After the upgrade finishes, the Wave Server returns to an idle status, indicated when the
blink pattern of the red LED at the far right of the ISC1 or ISC2 (depending on the Wave
Server model) changes from a fast double blink to a steady single blink.
10.
After the “Upgrade Completed” message, the SNMP window displays a series of
“Security Audit Success” messages. You can now close the SNMP window and log back
on the Global Administrator Management Console.
11.
To verify that the HotFixes were applied successfully, click Software Versions in the
General Administration section of the Global Administrator Management Console. The
top entry shows the latest release. HotFix entries are listed in the order that they were
applied, using the following format:
[Day] [Date] [Year] [Time]= [HotFix information]
