RF Power Supply and Matching Box
5. Operation
60
Connect to
output terminal
Change the number of
short circuits by
modifying the busbar
position.
Can match at low power but Pr
increases abruptly if Pf is
increased.
A variable capacitor in the matching
box is abnormally discharging.
Short the coil across 2 to 3 turns.
Coaxial connector poor contact or
poor wiring contact between MBX and
load or insufficient withstanding
voltage
Correct poor contact or
insufficient withstanding voltage.
Whatever position the TUNE,
MATCH variable capacitor are in,
Pr is totally reflected.
If absolutely no discharge, RF line
wiring is faulty (Not wired, shorted to
earth)
How far is RF power being
delivered? Check with a dip meter
If discharge is weak, insufficient
matching adjustment
Try greatly changing the number of
coil short circuits. (Short all turns
or short)
5-3-3. Increasing and decreasing the number of coil short circuits
To increase or decrease the number of coil turns, open the matching box's maintenance side and short
as shown in "
Figure 5-6 Coil shorting method
".
After changing the number of coil short circuits, make
sure not to forget to tighten the screws and then close the maintenance side.
* Since the MBX-1305L has no coil taps, it is not subject to modification.
Warning
Be careful of withstand voltage and withstand current when inserting a capacitor in parallel to
the load.
A fixed capacitor is a precision instrument. Shocks from falls or excessive stress may damage it.
Please install it without excessive stress such as bending or twisting it. Excessive tightening
torque may also damage it. Please tighten to a tightening torque of 147 N/cm or lower.
