If a RAID controller has been added to the server, install the RAID controller
software programs “Service” and “Power Console”. To install these programs, use
the Magnia 510D Software and Documentation CD-ROM. For procedures, refer to
the MegaRAID Series 466 Software Guide.
Installing Windows 2000 Server
Before installing Windows 2000 Server:

Check the settings of the motherboard.

Start the BIOS Setup Utility, select “PNP/PCI CONFIGURATION,” and make sure that
the “Plug and Play Aware O/S” option is set as follows:
Plug and Play Aware O/S: Yes
Manually Installing Windows 2000 Server
You can install Windows 2000 Server from the Windows 2000 Server CD-ROM, or using
the WINNT command to install on a disk already partitioned with MS-DOS. For details,
refer to the Windows 2000 Server First Step Guide.
Installing Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 1
After installing Windows 2000 Server, you will need to install Service Pack 1 for Windows
2000. Refer to the Service Pack documentation for details.
Updating the LAN driver
After installing the Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 1, you need to update the LAN
driver. The following procedure shows you how to update the LAN driver.

Insert the Magnia 510D Software and Documentation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM
drive.

Right click "My Computer" and select "Properties."

Select the Hardware tab in the My Computer Properties window.

Click
Device Manager
. Expand the Network adapters category.

Right click your Network Interface Card and select "Properties
."

When the Properties window for the Netowek Interface Card opens, select the Driver
tab.
