Hot-Swap Drive Carrier

This section reviews the hot-swap drive carrier.

Drive carrier - Supports SCSI Ultra 160 interfaces with device bays for up to three 
removable drive trays.

Drive tray - Allows you to mount 3.5-inch, low profile, SCA2 SCSI hard disk drives in the 
drive carrier.

Key lock - The key lock:

❖

Ensures the drive tray is properly seated in the drive carrier.

❖

Prevents unauthorized removal of the drive tray from the drive carrier.

❖

Turns power on and off to the drive tray.

NOTE: The hot-swap driver carrier is found on certain models only.

NOTE: The key lock must be engaged (turned counterclockwise) for the drive 
carrier to supply DC power to the drive tray and the installed hard disk drive.
