Communication settings status indicator
Move the focus to the communication indicator using the navigation control and press the
ENTER
key
to see a list of present communications settings.

Local
Instrument is controlled from the front panel.
GPIB
Instrument is communicating through a GPIB interface.
VXI-11
Instrument is communicating using VXI-11.
USBTMC
Instrument is communicating through a USB interface
(firmware version 1.05 and earlier, port number raw socket 5050; firmware version
1.06 and later, port number raw socket 5025).
WebPage
Instrument is communicating through a web page.
Instrument communication activity indicator
The activity indicator is located to the right of the communication settings status indicator. When the
instrument is communicating with a remote interface, the up and down arrows flash.

If a service request has been generated,
SRQ
is displayed to the right of the up and down arrows. You
can configure the instrument to generate a service request (SRQ) when one or more errors or
conditions occur. This indicator stays on until the serial poll byte is read or all the conditions that
caused SRQ are cleared.
