Modulator Setup
1.
From the summary screen press
Menu, Setup, Modulator.
2.
From the Modulator screen press:
a)
Output Format – should be set
to IF (204).
b)
IF Output – turn the carrier on
or off.
c)
IF Power – select the power
level between –20 and +5 dBm.
d)
IF Frequency – set the IF
frequency to 70 +/-20 MHz.
e)
Modulation – turn modulation
on or off.
f)
Tx Bandwidth – set the
bandwidth in MHz.
g)
Symbol Rate – set the symbol
rate in Msym/s.
h)
FEC Rate – select the desired
FEC rate.
NOTE…
Other menus exist for modulator control:
Spectrum Inversion, Preset Power Levels and
Satellite Descriptors. See Instruction Manual
for details.

Mux Setup
On the MCE, the Mux Menu can be used
for controlling output bit-rate and
remultiplexing control, (if fitted).
1.
From the summary screen press
Menu, Setup, Mux.
2.
From the Mux screen press:
a)
O/P Format – select either 188
or 204 Byte Mode.
b)
Bit-rate – entry of the bit-rate
in 188 or 204 Byte Packets.
NOTE…
The Modulator can be controlled by either
entering the bit-rate in 188 or 204 Byte packets
or the symbol rate.

Remultiplexing
Setup Option
On the MCE, the Remultiplexing Module
(if fitted) is controlled using two menus.
To set up services use the Services
Menu: Error! Bookmark not defined.
1.
From the summary screen press
Menu, Setup, Mux, Service.
2.
From the Service screen press:
a)
O/P Bit-rate – enter the bit-
rate in 188 Byte Packets.
b)
Spare Bit-rate – indicates free
transport bit-rate available.
The following are displayed on the
service screen:

transport bit-rate
O/P Bit-rate

transport bit-rate

If other encoders are connected to the ASI inputs
of the remultiplexer card, then their services will be
combined with the local service, to form a ‘multiple
channel’ service. The service names of the
additional channels will appear in the list as shown.
The spare bit-rate indicator graph (on the service
screen) should be used to ensure that the transport
stream has not being saturated with data.
