19. GUIDELINES ON ALMOND HARVESTER
1. TRACTOR
Tractor is one of the main points that growers have to take into account when
they plan to buy a harvester, because it is a voluminous and heavy machine that will
have a cantilever effect on the tractor.
If you choose a front model, your tractor will have to be fitted with a front-
loader, on which the front part of the harvester will be hitched, and that will be fed
and run by the hydraulic central hitched on the rear 3-points of the tractor:
Rear model are hitched on the back 3 points of the
tractor. The harvester has a built-in hydraulic central. It
needs two double-acting connections on the tractor to run
the hydraulic 3rd point cylinder, and the unloadind worm
screw. You will have to inform us of the flow of the hydraulic
circuit of the tractor, and to let us know if it has a regulation
system or not.
We can offer three models (two front ones, one rear one). Regardless of which
model you are interested in, important point to take into account are:

Tractors have to feature four cylinders and to have four driving wheels.
§
Harvesters have some impacts on the frame and structure your tractor
(vibrations, cantilever, when you rise the harvester to unload it, etc.)
