● The current active immersion point (IMPNT) is transmitted to the crane control system. It can
be displayed on the HMI if necessary.
● Even when the external immersion point is active, the internal immersion point is always
continuously updated.
WARNING
Danger to life due to incorrect setting of the external immersion point
Collisions can occur in semi-automatic mode (SAM) due to incorrect setting of the external
immersion point. These can result in severe personal injury or death, as well as damage to the
crane or ship.
● Make sure that the external immersion point is correctly set so that travel in semi-automatic
mode is permitted above the set immersion point.
6.10
Blocked regions
Collisions can be avoided in the following operating modes by using blocked regions:
● Semi-automatic mode (SAM) (see Semi-automatic mode (SAM) (Page 155))
● Manual mode (MAN) (see Manual mode (MAN) (Page 149))
WARNING
Danger to life due to failure to observe blocked regions
Blocked regions are observed in SAM mode and, if activated, in MAN mode.
In all other operating modes, i.e. also in positioning mode, collisions that may result in injury
or death are possible due to inattention of the crane driver.
In positioning mode, obstacles and blocked regions must be taken into account in the crane
control.

Definition of terms
Obstacles
An obstacle is a physical object that must be avoided in order to prevent collisions. Examples
include, on the waterside, containers, structures in the form of cell guides, frames for container
attachments, etc. and, on the landside, crane structures (e.g. sill beam), the lashing platform,
or trucks.
An obstacle is described in the software by two trolley positions and one hoist position. Up to
20 fixed and 250 variable obstacles can be defined.
