[6] PICTURE QUALITY
ADJUSTMENT
1. Initial setting of process control
Whenever the OPC drum or the process control PWB is replaced or
the sensor is cleaned or replaced, or before the picture density is
adjusted, check and if necessary adjust the process control initial
setting.
(1) Adjusting drum marking sensor output
1
Open the front door.
2
Remove the process cover on the drum cleaner unit.
3
Execute SIM 44-2.
The OPC drum rotates and the drum marking sensor output ad-
justment value appears on the panel.

4
Check to see if the output adjustment value displayed on the
panel is 210
±

adjust to the specified range with the VR-1 on the process control
PWB.
(2) Adjusting process control sensor (picture
density sensor) output
1
Execute SIM 44-3.
The OPC rotates and the drum marking sensor output adjustment
value appears on the panel.

3
Reinstall the process cover.
4
Close the front door.
(3) Initializing OPC drum film wear correction
counter
The OPC drum rotating time counter counts up for every 20,000
seconds, correcting both the grid voltage and the laser power accord-
ingly. (This operation should be performed only when the OPC drum
has been replaced.)
1
Execute SIM 24-7.
The panel appears like this.
