Pulse Test Diagnostic Timer
This timer gives the SCADA user indication the command to test using
PulseClosing
Technology
has been received and the test is proceeding. A command to test using
PulseClosing Technology
starts this timer, which is indicated by Testing (Status Point
53) and Any Automatic Timer in Progress (Status Point 122). When the timer expires,
Status Point 53 will automatically clear. (Range: 1 to 900 seconds; Step: 1; Default: 30)
Directional Element Reference Impedance (Z) Angle Section
The use of Z Angle or impedance angle is a departure from the previous use of Maximum
Torque Angle (MTA) and follows other (non-S&C) descriptions of directional angles.
Further, the diagrams in Figure 62 on page 114 give better definitions of the direction
X and Y boundaries, especially for single-phase to ground faults because there are two
regions where directional determination is blocked.
NOTICE
Changing the default-phase Z Angle for the “Special Case SLG” events (SLG =
single-phase to ground) can affect the directional element’s ability to determine
direction when fault current and load current are approximately equal .
