SurroundMonitor 11900 Series
First function layer
•
Level
(First layer, button/key 1 – toggle function linked to Level Var)
This function features the
dBu converted values
of the
reference levels of the analog inputs and outputs and the
calibration levels of the test signal generator which can be
adjusted in the
Reference Levels
menu.
The factory settings for the
Calibration Reference Le-
vels
adjusted in dBFS are:
•
–20 dBFS RMS
•
–18 dBFS RMS: EBU adjustment level (–3 dBu)
•
–9 dBFS RMS:
Maximum allowed signal level
pursuant to EBU, 0 dB on the
peak meter (LMPSL) (+6 dBu)
The resulting dBu values depend on the selected
Re-
ference Level Standard
which is also adjusted in the
Reference Levels
menu, so the button/key
1
can display
different values.
•
Dec (Decrement)
(First layer, button/key 2)
This function reduces the variable output signal level (
le-
vel var
, see below) in 1 dB steps.
•
Level var
(First layer, button/key 3 – toggle function linked to Level)
This function selects the variable output signal level set
with the buttons/keys

) and
4
(
inc
). Preset is the
dBu value of
Calibration Reference Level 2
set in
Refe-
rence Levels
menu (see also
Level
above).
•
Inc (Increment)
(First layer, button/key 4)
This function increases the variable output level (
Level
Var
) in 1 dB steps.
NOTE -
The settings made with buttons/keys
1
to
4
are also applied to the other test signal types (
P-noise
,
Sine
).
•
Output
(First layer, button/key 5)
This function selects the channels to which the surround
test signal will be output:
•
All:
All channels (except subwoofer)
•
LCR:
Front channels L, R, C only
•
LR:
Channels L and R only
•
Close
(First layer, button/key 7)
This function stores your settings and closes the current
function layer. The test signal generator remains active
and the test signal remains on.
Second function layer (select MORE to activate)
•
Bandwidth
(Second layer, buttons/keys 1 to 6)
These functions select the bandwidth and output of the
test signal.
•
The upper value is activated the first time you select
the function. The signal is then routed to the LFE
channel and all other channels are muted.
•
The lower value is activated when you select the
function a second time. The signal is then routed to
the channels set with the Output function (button/key

– previous layer, see above). When
all
is selected
all channels including the LFE are activated. When

are activated the LFE channel is muted.

The
off
function switches off the LF test signal.
The current function layer remains open, so that you can
reposition the sub woofer.

Close
(Second layer, button/key 7)
Selecting this function ends the LF test.
