Color Palettes
Tap the button to access the selections. Tap a palette to apply
to the current image.
Using a color palette may be better for identifying material and
determining areas of interest. Using the grayscale may be
better for distinguishing object shapes.
Use a color palette with many colors to bring out higher
resolution details, as shown below:
The range of the palette can be changed interactively by using
the press and tap gesture. This changes the color contrast
(density), allowing optimum enhancement of individual
features of interest. The two figures below have the same
palette applied, but with different densities set using the press
and tap gesture.
To extend this effect to lighter or darker ranges, repeat the
press and tap gesture multiple times.
The Histogram feature can be used to identify the relative
densities of the assigned colors. See
