III. Flush the measuring cartridge five times with softened
water. The measuring cartridge has been regenerated when
the white part of the measuring cartridge has moved into its
original position.
10.3 Commissioning the system after maintenance
10.3.1 Commissioning process
n
User qualification, maintenance: instructed personnel
Chapter 2.2 ‘User qualification’ on page 10
Use the following abridged procedure for commissioning. Refer to
the relevant chapter for a more detailed description of commis‐
sioning.
Wear protective clothing when working with lye and product.
Check
s
1
Ensure before starting up the system that the system is clean and dry.
2
Check whether all the couplings are tightened.
2
Throw the main switch.
3
Unscrew the water tap in the system.
4
Check whether the water pressure is sufficient (>1.5 bar and < 5 bar). Otherwise use
the reducing valve to adjust.
5
Use the test kit to measure the hardness of the water.
6
Check whether the brine tank is filling with softened water.
7
Check whether the brine tank stops filling when the float is actuated.
8
Open all shut-off valves with the exception of the sample valve and the cooling water
control valve.
9a
Open the cover of the caustic tank and fill the caustic tank with the volume of lye previ‐
ously collected. Wear protective clothing when working with sodium hydroxide solution
9b
Fill additional lye with the Chlorinsitu-III > 500 g/h.
10
Replace the cover on the caustic tank.
11
Switch the fan on via the control panel.
12
Check the setting of the sensor air flow. The indicator light should turn green after 1
minute.
13
Switch on the booster pump on the control panel.
14
MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS SUFFICIENT LYE IN THE CAUSTIC TANK AND PRO‐
DUCTION TANK. PRODUCTION WILL NOT START IF THERE IS NO LYE IN THE
CAUSTIC TANK. THIS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS PROBLEMS FOR THE ENVI‐
RONMENT AND HEALTH. The caustic tank must be filled with lye before production is
started. Chlorine gas can be released in the room if production is started without lye.
MAKE SURE THAT ALL SHUT-OFF VALVES (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE
SAMPLE VALVE) ARE OPEN.
15
Perform initial commissioning.
16
Switch on production on the control panel and reset all faults
17
Check whether the booster pump starts when initial commissioning was stopped.
