27. Check that the cooling fans of the membrane cells and con‐
trol cabinet are working correctly.
No cooling fan is fitted on the membrane cell of the Chlorin‐
situ-III < 600 g/h.
Make sure that the cooling fan is rotating in the right direc‐
tion. The cooling fans on one side have to draw air by suction
into the control cabinet and the cooling fans on the opposite
side have to discharge air to the outside.
28. The caustic tank and the production tank are filled with soft‐
ened water and the requisite quantity of lye in this phase.
The booster pump pumps water through the production tank,
producing negative pressure. The setpoint for negative pres‐
sure is 200 mbar. A manual refresh can be performed if there
is sufficient negative pressure.
Initial check:
n
Start a manual refresh on the display of the PLC.
n
Check that the rinse valve and the vent valve are open.
n
Check that the brine valve is open.
n
Check that the brine flow corresponds to the setpoint.
29. Allow the system to be switched on for around 2 hours. Make
sure that no malfunctions or alarms occur on the system.
Now measure the voltage and the current on the membrane
cell; the current must be between 4 ... 5.5 V DC per cell and
chamber.
30. At full system load, measure the current at all phases of the
power supply and enter the values in the test protocol. Com‐
pare the current measured with the valuesin the test protocol
from the factory test phase.
31. Check the modem or internet connection, if available.
