Heater
Enter the desired temperature in °C between 25–45°C. The heater will maintain a temperature within 1°C of the
set point.
Note:
The instrument is fan-cooled. The temperature cannot be set lower than the ambient temperature of your
laboratory.
Figure 61. Heater Symbol.
The Heater will remain on after the run unless manually turned OFF by the user or the PC is disconnected from
the instrument.
Injectors
Dual Injectors are an optional accessory for the GloMax
®
Discover Instrument.
Injector System Specifications
Number of Injectors
Two Injectors
Dispense Volume Range
5–200µl in 1µl increments
Plate Compatibility
6-, 12-, 24-, 48- and 96-well plates
Injection Speed
20–500µl/second*
Waste Collection Tray Volume
Approximately 50ml
Void Volume
500µl
*For standard Luciferase Assay or Dual-Luciferase
®
Assays, we recommend an injector speed of 200µl per
second.
Warning:
Make sure sufficient volume is available in the well to accept the injected volume, especially when
injectors are used within a loop function. Failure to do so may cause an overflow of reagent and/or sample into
adjacent wells or into the interior of the instrument.
The Injectors may also be accessed from the
Tools
icon in the menu bar.
See Setting Up and Operating the Injector System (Section 4 for more details).
Aperture
Note:
Aperture usage and any instruction to change the aperture applies only to luminescence methods.
The Aperture refers to the interior well mask within the instrument used to reduce cross talk from neighboring
wells in the plate.
There are two Apertures: 96-well and 384-well. Lower density plates (6-, 12-, 24- and 48-well plates) should use
the 96-well aperture. The instrument comes with the 96-well Aperture preinstalled.
