Defining Quality of Service
QoS can be measured and guaranteed in average delay between packets, the
variation in delay, and the transmission error rate. Currently, two QoS
methods are supported: DiffServ and Precedence. These methods differ in the
way the packet’s priority is encoded in the packet header.

To define Quality of Service parameters:

Click the
Quality of Service
button.
The
QoS of Ethernet Service
dialog box opens.
Type
Select the type of router connection:
•
Network
– defines a connection to a router
segment in another network.
•
Host
– defines a direct connection to an endpoint
found on another network.
