CAUTION
The product has an internal non-isolated DC power supply. Circuit ground (0 VDC)
and frame ground are connected together. When connecting a non-isolated device or
a non-isolated interface to the product, take appropriate actions to avoid communica-
tion failures or damage to the mentioned ports.

CAUTION
Never ground the 24 VDC side of the power supply. This may cause a short circuit.
The shielding of the communication connectors are directly bonded to the case and to the functional
ground of the AMR Controller.
The shield of a communication cable should be terminated to ground at both ends of the cable with a
low impedance connection. A large surface area surrounding the entire cable shield ensures a low im-
pedance connection, avoid the use of pigtails.
Potential differences between the two connected communicating devices might cause an equipotential
current to flow through the shielding connected at both ends.
To avoid equipotential currents on the cable shields, an additional equipotential bonding conductor
must be installed.
Refer to IEC 61918 for guidelines regarding conductor sizing and length to prevent a voltage offset
between two communicating devices exceeding 1 V.
Make sure to run the bonding conductor in close proximity to the communication cable.
