Area Designation (Using the Edit Pen)
Use the edit pen with this function and designate a specific area of the original for image editing.
There are two methods used for Area Designation.

Rectangular Area Designation:
With the edit pen, designate an area by entering the corner points of two of the opposing
angles of the rectangular area.

Non-rectangular Area Designation:
This method is used to designate circles, ovals, polygons, and other such areas.

In this manual, both rectangles and squares will be referred to as “rectangles.”
There are three editing methods:

Framing:
Copies only the part of the image inside the designated area.

Blanking:
Copies the image with the area inside the designated area blank.

Multiple
Editing:
Copies the part of the original inside the designated area in a different editing function than that used to copy
outside the designated area (the entire original except the designated area). There are fourteen editing
functions:

Multiple Editing

Only the last previous mode settings can hold area designation information when you press the Recall key. Also, non-rectangular, polygon,
free or trace area settings can not be reproduced.
