Section 6: Setting up mailboxes

Before

Before you begin adding mailboxes, ensure you have completed the Mailbox

you register

List on the 

 Mini Programming Record.  When you register user

mailboxes, we recommend using mailbox numbers that are the same as the

mailboxes

extension numbers currently used in your company. For example, extension
number 27 would have a mailbox number assigned as 27.

When you are registering Guest or Information Mailboxes, we recommend you

select a leading digit different than the User Mailboxes. This will help you
identify the mailbox type. For example, all Guest Mailboxes could have a
leading digit of four, and all Information 

 could have a leading digit of

three.

When you are completing the Mailbox List, you need to determine:

Class of Service

.

Company Directory option
Message Waiting Notification

The Company Directory option and Message Waiting Notification are not

included in a class of Service. When you are adding a mailbox, you can

override these options.

The Company Directory option defaults to YES. When the Company Directory’
option is NO, a mailbox owner’s name is not included in the Company Directory,
nor can a mailbox owner be selected from the Company Directory. This means
the mailbox is not included in the Directory Report. Even though the Company

Directory name is not included, the mailbox owner must still record their name

when initializing a mailbox.

The Message Waiting Notification defaults to YES. This means 

 will

leave a “Message for you” notification on a 

 telephone display. When

the Message Waiting Notification is changed to NO, 

 will not leave a

“Message for you” notification on a 

 telephone display.

The Message Waiting Notification 

 set to NO when you add Guest

Mailboxes. These mailboxes do not have an operating 

 extension.

Note: 

 can store a maximum of 24 mailboxes including  Special,

Personal and Information Mailboxes.
