PCL4 Emulation
PCL4 emulation provides 300 dpi resolution which is adequate for printing text. If
you are printing a document that contains several graphics, you might prefer to
use the GDI driver, which provides a higher (600 dpi) resolution or the PCL5e
option. See “GDI Printer Feature” on page 6-11 for details.
Connecting to a Computer
Follow these instructions to install the cables.
CAUTION
Never connect or disconnect cables with the power to either unit ON.

Close all the open programs on the PC.

Be sure power to the computer and the fax unit are OFF.

Connect the parallel cable to the parallel connector on your unit.

Connect the other end of the cable to the parallel port on the PC.
5
Turn power ON to both the computer and the fax machine.
CAUTION
Static electricity can degrade your fax unit operations and/or damage
the unit. When the cable is not connected to your fax unit, cap the
connector to guard against static electricity.
