SECTION 2.4: NON-STANDARD MAINTENANCE
This section provides instructions for performing non-standard maintenance on the VX150 to VX2
transmitter. This section includes the following topics:

NOTE
:
Nautel recommends you make a copy/clone of the original SD card that was shipped with the
transmitter. The SD card contains a license file that linked to a unique ID on the System Interface PWB.
Use a Class 10 SD card with a minimum 8 GB capacity (e.g., Nautel part number UB114, vendor part
number Cactus KS8GR-245, or equivalent).
Cloning the SD Card
The VX transmitter’s OS (operating system) is stored on an external SD card. It contains the OS, preset
information and the transmitter calibration data. It is recommended to have a back-up SD card in the
event of a failure. To make a copy of the SD card, perform the following steps:
 Disconnect the ac power from the transmitter.
 Remove the original SD card shipped with the transmitter from the slot in the rear panel of the VX
transmitter.
 Insert the SD card into a card reader connected to a laptop or PC or an external SD cloning device.
 Insert the new blank SD card [Nautel part # UB114 or equivalent (8 GB)] into a second reader/slot.
 Use a drive cloning utility to clone the source card (from the transmitter) to the destination card
(new blank card).
 Remove the original SD card and re-install it in the transmitter.
 Remove the new cloned SD card and store it in a safe location, such as the Ancillary Kit.
Note:
If you do not have a secondary card reader, your cloning utility may be able to save an
image of the original SD card and then burn the saved image to the new SD card.
