Operation
CSP2008
Edge triggering: The interfaces are updated
after the trigger edge; at the digital output,
only a digital measured value is output. In
between, the analog output is held ("Sample
and hold").

Level triggering ("gating"): Measured values
are output for as long as the trigger condition
is fulfilled.

nal pulse or software trigger).

Synchronization
5.5.1 Sensors
All sensors can be synchronised from the controller. A synchronization between them
of sensors of the same type is then no longer necessary. Different sensors can also be
synchronized.
The Universal Controller operates as Master; the sensors operate as Slave. The small
time offset of the measured value between individual sensors no longer applies. The
controller only reacts to the edge of a synchronization signal.
The following operating modes are possible:
Continuous
For sensors which do not know any synchronization signal (e.g. ILD
1402) or sensors with very different measuring rates.
Syn-
chro-
nous
synchronous
Synchronised operation. For an exact thickness result, it is indispensable
that both the sensors record a measured value at the same time. A time
delay for the measured value recording corresponds to a displacement
of the target, i.e. the sensors are measuring at different places. Thus any
statement about the measured object thickness is only possible with
limitations.
alternating
Alternating mode. For some transparent materials, it is expedient to select
alternating mode for the thickness measurement. In particular, this means
milky objects where the laser beam partially or completely penetrates the
target. Thereby, the upper or lower laser beam is activated alternately.
This prevents the laser beam of the lower sensor interfering during a
measurement recording of the upper sensor. Any movement of the target
must be prevented as the sensors measure at different places and thus
any statement about the target thickness would only be possible with
limitations.
Recommended settings for alternating synchronization:
-
The controller needs the internal timing,
menu Data recording > Time base > Cycle selection: internal
-
Both sensors need the operating mode Sync (Synchronization)
Menu Data recording > Time base > Mode: Synchronous
