Value
The sensors are not activated (Laser on) until they have been configured correctly using the menu (type, port, opera-
ting mode).
i
After selecting the sensor, the “Submit” command must be executed first. Afterwards, define the baud rate of the
sensor in the RS422 serial port before you activate or make other settings, e.g. key lock or measuring rate.

The input characteristic of a sensor is shown as follows:
A + B*x + (C*x)
2
+ (D*x)
3
.
The formula converts a digital value into millimetres. The sensor values (digital values) are used for x. The values C
and D are used for the adjustment of nonlinear sensor types and can be determined experimentally or referred to in
the operating manual. If the auto scaling is disabled, the parameters A, B, C and D can be changed.
i
The values for A and B are automatically calculated from the sensor information and cannot be changed for
MICRO-EPSILON sensors with digital output; C and D are then always 0.000000.
In order that the CSP2008 interprets the sensor signal on an EtherCAT terminal correctly, also an input scaling in
CSP2008 is required.

1)
If using a RS422 extension terminal or the EK1122
2)
Required for sensors on analog input terminals
3)
Because of prefix 1 bit less.
