Read the safety information that begins in “Safety” on page v and “Installation guidelines” on
page 36.
Step 2.
Reconnect the power cable and signal cables that you removed from the backplane.
Notes:
1. Make sure that Port 1 on the hardware ServeRAID or system board is connected to Port 1
on the backplane. Likewise, Port 0 on the hardware ServeRAID or system board should
be connected to Port 0 on the backplane.
2. You can refer to the internal cable routing section “Internal cable routing” on page 173 for
further details.
3. Based on the server configuration, the hot-swap hard disk drive backplane may appear as
either of the following.
For eight 3.5-inch hot-swap drive backplane:
