12.5.1 Performance test of the disengaging mechanism
After mounting the drive units, the disengaging mechanics performance must be tested.
•
Prop up vehicle in order to relieve the drive wheels.
•
Bring shift lever into a horizontal position. Neither of the drive wheels should be able to be
turned by hand.
•
Bring the shift lever gradually into a vertical position while you are trying to rotate the drive
wheels. Both drive wheels should be disengaged more or less simultaneously, in other
words should start to turn more or less simultaneously.
Note:
In the shift lever vertical position, both drive wheels must be freely turnable.
•
Should this not be the case, the disengaging mechanism must be readjusted.
