CAN-bus technology
CAN-bus is a communication protocol for exchanging information between the ve
-
hicle control units. CAN means Controller Area Network and enables the information
to be exchanged through two-way wires (bus).
The information is not directed to a particular control unit, but each control unit rec
-
ognises and analyses any information that it needs, transmitting a message back to
the network.
The use of this technology allows a significant reduction in both the number of sen
-
sors used and in the number of wires that make up the electrical installation, thus
greatly increasing the performance of the vehicle systems and reducing costs.

The CAN-bus system must not be manipulated or modified in any way, since any al
-
teration of it could lead to failure of safety-related vehicle components.
