2.10.2 Opening/closing valves
Opening valves:
Open valves by turning them counterclockwise (turn 90° left as far as it will go).
Close valves:
close valves by turning them clockwise (turn 90° right as far as it will go).
PROCEDURE

Check that all valves are closed.

Close all valves by turn ing them clockwise (turn 90° right as far as it will go).
2.10.3 Locking/unlocking the expansion vessel [18]
By default, the temperature control unit is retrofitted with an optional isolating sleeve. The isolat-
ing sleeve is not marked in the wiring diagram (from page 99 in section
»Annex«
). If any shut-off
valves are installed in the temperature control unit for retrofitting purposes, these are indicated in
the wiring diagram by the entry
>Internal expansion vessel shut-off<
[124].
In the condition as supplied to the customer, the temperature control unit is prepared for use with
an externally closed application. Provide for safe operation by retrofitting the temperature control
unit to the respectively used application.
Using an externally closed application:
• The >Expansion vessel< [18] may not be locked!
• The
>Expansion vessel<
[18] must be able to accommodate and discharge the temperature-
dependent volume of the thermal fluid.
• Locking the >Expansion vessel< [18] will damage the externally closed application due to
overpressure.
Using an externally open application:
• The >Expansion vessel< [18] must be locked!
• The
externally open application
must be able to accommodate and discharge the tempera-
ture-dependent volume of the thermal fluid.
• The leaking of thermal fluid from the >Expansion vessel< [18] and >Sight glass< [23] (if pre-
sent) is prevented.
