Control Cabinet
____________________________________________________________________
6.1 Introduction
The control cabinet contains the exciter and control elements of the transmitter.
Documentation includes Wiring Diagram, Control Cabinet Common 843-5583-001 that
is common to the analog and digital versions of the cabinet and for digital, Wiring
Diagram Control Cabinet Digital 843-5583-003.
Dual Analog Exciters can be used with an Exciter Switcher for Exciter
Redundancy. Automatic switching can be controlled by the RF levels from the exciters.
The next unit in the RF path depends on the configuration. Single Power Amplifier
Cabinet systems do not need phase and gain units.
The control components in the control cabinet include the GUI eCDi interface
computer, the main controller, and the front control push button panel.
The exciters have self-contained power supplies and the logic and RF control
subassemblies utilize DC power supplies in the bottom of the cabinets. More power
supplies are available to form a diode OR’d redundant supply configuration. A UPS
(Uninterruptable AC Power Supply) is included to provide power to the GUI, one exciter,
and one set of control power supplies.
6.2 Control Cabinet Common
This description is used because the 843-5583-001drawings are common to the digital
and the analog transmitters. The 843-5583-003 drawings are unique to the digital control
cabinet. The reference to the -002 version of the drawing is for the analog control cabinet.
