4.1.3 CPLD Complex Programmable Logic Device 

This is the basic level controller and gives the transmitter a critical life support 
functionality. This life support function is controlled by a watchdog circuit triggered 
when the 376 micro is unresponsive. 
 
The CPLD will control the transmitter ON/OFF state. It will respond to front panel and 
customer parallel remote commands. The RF detector outputs will be monitored, 
compared to references to protect the transmitter from fault conditions. 
 
It also serves as memory mapped I/O to the 376 Microcontroller.
