There is a test point for the 4.096 reference voltage. There are 5 ground test points and
also test points for the following control voltages. +15V, +7.5V, -15V, +5V, -5V, +3.3V,
+9V
5.4.3.4 Main Controller
The Controller contains all of the overall transmitter logic and control amplifiers for:
ON/OFF command, interlocking, VSWR Foldback, and VSWR Overload. It routes all
exciter remote and system commands to the exciter currently in use via the exciter
switcher. It sends ON/OFF commands to all of the slave controllers.
5.4.3.5 Slave Controller
The Slave Controller in each PA cabinet receives Transmitter ON and OFF commands
from the Control Cabinet Controller and sends PA cabinet analog and status information
to the Monitor via monitor bus ribbon cable.
The Slave Controller operates the PA primary power contactor and power supplies and
the PA's. Peak detectors to monitor RF samples originating in the cabinet are included on
the board. The Slave controller contains local on/off and fault indicators, provides drive
to a front panel status indicator, and has a local ON arid OFF pair of buttons which may
be used to operate the PA cabinet independently of the main controller if the control
cable is disconnected. Internal logic in the PA controller controls the application of ON
commands to the Power Amplifier cabinets.
5.4.4 Module Logic
Each PA and Driver module contains its own Local control logic. The Module Control
Board, which turns the Module ON and OFF, detects and acts on a number of internally
generated module faults and sends a module fault signal to the slave controller which
generates a distinctive red fault blink code on the module front panel indicator for each
fault detected.
5.5 Main Controller
5.5.1 Platinum-i TV Controller
The Platinum TV Controller schematic is in section 600. Sheet one is the block diagram
for the controller.
The interconnection of the control cabinet components is shown in the Basic Wiring
Diagram for the control cabinet. The Controller receives transmitter on/off and power
raise/lower commands from the front panel and also cabinet and external interlock
signals. It also interfaces with external remote control signals, and supplies output
drives to all status indicators. Peak Detectors for Forward and Reflected, and for up to 3
reject loads, are also located on the controller.
