These thresholds define how the tool will categorize the patient’s heart rate based on the
breath hold recording.

Variable Beat to Beat Threshold
: Max beat to beat variability before the HR Rhythm is
classified as “Variable”.
○
Irregular Threshold
: Max number of irregular beats before the HR Rhythm is classified
as “Irregular”.
○
Highly Irregular Threshold
: Max number of irregular beats before the HR Rhythm is
classified as “Highly Irregular”.
NOTE:
Each cell allows you to configure an alert message, if needed. Alert messages are
read-only and cannot be edited.

5.3 Build a cardiac protocol using Auto Gating
Use this procedure to build a cardiac protocol using Auto Gating.
Considerations
GE cardiac protocols that use Auto Gating are set to a GE defined profile. Auto Gating
automatically provides suggested settings based on the selected profile for any ECG-gated
acquisition, if an ECG recording has been done.
1. From the image monitor, click .
2. Click
Protocol Management

3. From the
Protocol Selection
window, click [Chest] and select an existing cardiac protocol.
4. Click [Edit] to add Auto Gating to an existing protocol.
a. From the
Scan Setting
window, click
ECG and Gating
.
b. Click
Auto Gating
.
c. Select
On
and a default profile for the exam will be used to provide Auto Gating scan
settings.
d. Click [Apply].
e. Click
Gating Based On
and make sure it is set to
Latest Recording
.
f. Click [Apply].
5. Continue setting the rest of the
ECG and Gating
parameters for the protocol.
6. Verify the remaining parameters for the subsequent series in the protocol.
7. Click [Save] or [Save As] to save the protocol.
