X-Ray Indicator Light Removal / Replacement

INTRODUCTION

The light illuminates when x-rays are being
generated.

Standard toolkit

SUPPLIES

None

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS

X-ray shielding contains lead and lead compounds,
chemicals known (to the State of California) to cause
cancer and other reproductive harm. Wear gloves
when handling shielding and wash hands after
handling.

PRECONDITIONS

•

Machine locked out. See 6.1.1 for details.

•

Left access panel removed. See 6.1.2 for details.

REMOVE

1.

Using 1 1/8” open end or adjustable wrench,
remove nut and internal tooth lockwasher
securing light to case.

2.

Using slotted screwdriver, remove two wire
from terminals. Note location for later re-
installation - yellow is positive.

REPLACE

Reverse of removal.

FOLLOW-ON PROCEDURES

Power-up unit, turn x-rays on to confirm proper
operation of indicator light.
