Find the Geometric Centre of the Ball at Detector End:
Note:
To find the geometric centre of the ball, determine the x value on the right and left side of the ball.
Add the values together and divide by 2. To find the geometric centre as follows.
22. Use the Pan and Zoom features in
MicroView
to get the ball in the desired area of the screen.
Note:
To Pan, move the mouse while pressing Shift plus the left mouse button simultaneously. To
Zoom, move the mouse up (to magnify) or down (to zoom out) while pressing the right mouse
button.
23. Threshold the image by sliding the
Window
slide bar to the left until it reads 0 and sliding the
Level
slide bar until the edges of the ball appears with the maximum amount of square edges.
24. Zoom in on the outer left most side of the ball.
25. Place the mouse in the middle of the gray
band that appears to the left of the black
area. Use the Worksheet and make note
of the x coordinate and round the
coordinate to the nearest .5 pixel.
26. Zoom out and move to the right outer most side of the ball. Zoom in on the edge.
DO NOT
re-
adjust the
Window
and
Level
slide bars.
27. Place the mouse in the middle of the gray band that appears to the right of the black area.
Make note of the x coordinate in the Worksheet.
