7. Ensure the fields below are set to the following settings:
Enable Left Limit: checked off
Enable Right Limit: checked off
Camera: Thomson 8M
Bin Mode: 1 x 1
Exposure Time: 3000 ms
kV: 80
µA: 80
8. Find the motor limit switch (this ensures that the limit switches will never be triggered):
- select Magnification from the drop down menu in the Motor field
- press the Left (CW) Linear Home button to move the stage toward the detector
- enter 2 in the mm field, click on the right or CCW radio button, then press the Linear Stage
Motion button to offset the "home" position by 2 mm.
9. Click the Start Shutter button.
10. Click the Turn X-Ray On button.
11. Click the Fluoro button, then:
- select OK when the warning pop-up appears.
- select OK when the text concerning placement of the specimen appears.
