4.2.7
X-Ray Indicator Light, Small
1.
Visually inspect the X-Ray Indicator Light.
2.
Verify that X-Ray Source is working.
4.2.8
Comair Blower
A Comair Blower is used to cool the X-ray tube. When the main cabinet is powered, the center part
of the Blower spins.
4.2.9
Ventilator Hose (PVC, 1"IDX1.21"OD)
A PVC hose provides a ventilating path from the Comair Blower to the x-ray tube. Any damage to
the hose can be found through a visual check.
4.2.10
Interlock, D4DS Series
There are 3 interlock switches installed inside the main cabinet. When the system is first powered
on, or when the enclosure door has been opened, the red Reset button on CM-8X control box is
illuminated.
After pressing the Reset button the Reset button is no longer illuminated and the
X-Ray and Motor
Controller
software should indicate that the Safety Door is Closed (i.e. the sliding door and both
ends of the main cabinet are properly closed).
If the Safety Door on the
X-Ray and Motor Controller
indicates Opened, at least one of the three
interlock switches is not closed properly. The x-ray tube only can be operated if the Safety Door
indicates Closed
and the
Reset
button is not illuminated.
IF SAFETY DOOR READS "OPENED"
An electronic wiring check of the interlock can be obtained using a multi-meter. When all three
interlocks are closed, pin 10 and pin 11 of connector 2 on the electronic flange should be a short
circuit. If the outer cabinet is removed from the system and all three interlocks are closed, pin 1 and
pin 2 of the disconnect of interlock cable on the enclosure should be short circuit.
4.2.11
Interrupt Switch, 4600B
This switch is mounted on the sliding door and is needed to control the generation of an x-ray. Only
when the sliding door is closed properly is the x-ray tube able to generate x-ray.
ELECTRONIC WIRING CHECK
An electronic wiring check of the interlock can be obtained using a multi-meter. When the enclosure
is on the system and the door is closed properly, pin 11 and pin 13 of connector 1 on the electronic
flange should be a short circuit. When the outer cabinet is removed from the system and the door
is closed properly, then pin 3 and pin 4 of the disconnect of interlock cable should be a short circuit.
