Sample Introduction
This chapter describes the operation and maintenance of the standard ICP-MS sample
introduction system.
Some of the sample introduction system’s hardware is contained in the instrument’s
gas box assembly, in particular, the sample introduction PCB. This chapter contains the
circuit description of the sample introduction section of the sample introduction PCB.
4.1
System Description
The standard ICP-MS sample introduction system consists of the following assemblies:
A four channel peristaltic pump
Peltier cooled spray chamber
A micro-mist glass nebulizer
A one piece quartz torch
Glass sheath gas accessory port
Various types of flexible tubing and fittings
