This procedure is typically done while the Detector Assembly is still attached to VC3 for
easier access.
1.
Vent the vacuum.
2.
Turn off the instrument power.
3.
Remove the front cover.
4.
Disconnect the serial cable which interfaces with the attenuator on the bottom
side and the P3 & P4 cables from the top.
5.
Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the side of the discriminator and the SMA
cable from the top of the discriminator.
6.
Remove the 4 screws fitting the attenuator/discriminator to the front plate of
VC3.
7.
Pull away the attenuator/discriminator from the plate.
8.
To separate the attenuator from the discriminator, loosen the 4 nuts (two on
front and two on back) and pull both units apart.
9.
Replace appropriate unit and reassemble in reverse order.
