5.23 NC, numerical converter
This function block is available for easy800-SWD from device version 01 and
for easy800 standard devices from device version 04.
The numerical converter function block is used to convert a value of:
•
BCD in binary value.
•
Binary value in BCD.
The binary value is further processed in the device. For example it can be
added to a value. The binary value is displayed in the simulator as a decimal
value. easy800 device allows the use of up to 32 numerical converters.
Contacts and Coils
Coil NC..EN is used to activate the function block. If the coil NC..EN is not
active, the entire function block is deactivated and reset. The output value is
set to zero.
Example:

Its coil NC..EN is directly connected to the device terminal IS5.
Parametric programming of the function block inputs/outputs
Operating mode
The operating mode determines whether a binary value is to be converted to
BCD or vice versa.
The factory setting of this parameter is BCD.
