Parametric programming of the function block inputs/outputs
If you enter a coil of the function block in the circuit diagram, e.g. SP..EN or
SP..T, or drag the SP function block onto the function block diagram, the
Circuit diagram element and Global communication parameters tab are
displayed. You can change the function block number and add a comment in
the Global communication parameters tab. This shows 3 fields:
•
Communication parameters.
•
Start sequence.
•
End sequence.
Communication parameters
The Communication parameters field contains the following parameters:
Parameters
Function, parameterization in the function block
Telephone number with
dial-up parameters
Only with modem connected. The SP function block places <ATD> string in front of the
dial-up sequence you de
fi
ne. The dial-up parameters are shown in
Baud
9600, 19200
Data Bit
normally 8 bits
Stop Bit
1, 2
Parity
none, even, uneven
Time Stamp
Date and time are added to the text
Leased Line
This option can be selected after the modem function is activated. When the leased
line is activated, the text is sent immediately when SP..T is switched on, since it
assumes that a connection is present.
Modem
Connecting devices via modem (only if the leased line is deactivated):
1. Activate the modem function.
2. Switch on coil SP..EN (activate SP function block).
3. Activate coil SP..T (send data):
•
The SP function block establishes a dial-up connection based on the telephone
number stored and sends the data.
Carriage return,
automatic
If the Automatic line break option is activated, the SP function block sends a control
sequence that causes a connected printer or terminal to carry out an automatic line
break after each text line output. This option applies to all SP function blocks and only
therefore has to be activated by one function block. It can help you, for example to
create highly legible label prints.
