Precautions During Maintenance
CAUTION !
In case of malfunction of this device, contact your
DrägerService or an authorized representative of
DrägerService.
The device must be inspected and serviced
(preventive maintenance) by DrägerService or an
authorized representative of DrägerService at
regular 6 month intervals. We recommend
obtaining a service contract through your vendor.
Maintenance or repair of the Julian Anesthesia
Workstation shall be performed by DrägerService
or an authorized representative of DrägerService.

Treatment of batteries and O

capsules:
Do not throw into fire! Risk of explosion.
Do not force open! Danger of bodily injury.
Follow all local, state, and federal regulations
with respect to environmental protection when
disposing of batteries and O
2
-sensor
capsules.

Disconnect power!
Before opening the unit, always disconnect
plug at the wall outlet first.
WARNING !
Preventive Maintenance work on the Julian
Anesthesia Workstation shall be performed by
DrägerService or by an authorized represen-
tative of DrägerService only.

To avoid any risk of infection, clean and disin-
fect ventilator and accessories before any
maintenance according to established
hospital procedures - this applies also when
returning devices or parts for repair.

CAUTION !
Do not clean filter in cleaning and disinfecting
equipment.
Do not immerse filter in disinfectant solution!
CAUTION !
Do not treat exterior surfaces of the workstation
with disinfecting agents containing alcohol.
CAUTION !
Do not process flow sensor in cleaning and
disinfection equipment or steam-autoclave flow
sensor.
Do not use compressed air, a brush or similar
tools to clean flow sensor as this could possibly
damage the thin wires inside.
CAUTION !
When removing and connecting breathing
circuits, always hold by the connector cuff and
not by the spiral reinforcement, otherwise the
reinforcing spiral may be torn off the cuff.
Breathing hoses with damaged spirals can easily
be kinked and may interrupt ventilation!
Always check the breathing hoses for damage
prior to use.
Damaged breathing circuits must not be used.
WARNING !
Absorbent is caustic and is a strong irritant to
the eyes, skin, and respiratory tract. When
filling absorber, take care not to spill its
contents.
WARNING !
Follow all accepted hospital procedures for
processing and disposing of infectious waste.

disinfecting parts contaminated with body
fluids (protective clothing, eyewear, etc.).
