Storage
WARNING:
When draining the fuel, stop
the engine and wait for the engine to cool down.
Failure to do so may cause burns or a fire.
CAUTION:
When you store the machine for
a long time, drain all fuel from the fuel tank and
carburetor, and keep it in a dry, clean location.
CAUTION:
To avoid injuries and accidents,
pay full attention to how the machine is stored in
order to prevent it from falling.
To store the machine, perform the following procedures.
1.
Empty the fuel tank completely. If there are any
foreign materials remaining in the fuel tank, remove
them completely.
2.
Pull out the fuel filter from the refill port using a
wire.
3.
Push the primer pump until the fuel is drained from
the fuel filter. Also drain the fuel entering the fuel tank.
4.
Reset the filter on the fuel tank and securely
tighten the fuel tank cap.
5.
Start the engine and run it until it stops.
6.
Remove the spark plug and drip several drops of
engine oil through the spark plug hole.
7.
Gently pull the starter handle so that the engine
oil will spread over the engine and then insert the spark
plug.
8.
Attach the cover to the metal blade.
9.
Store the machine so that it is in a level position.
If this is not possible, place the machine so that the
engine is below the cutting tool. Otherwise, engine oil
may leak from inside.
10.
Keep the drained fuel in a special container in a
well-ventilated, shaded location.
NOTICE:
When using the machine after long-
term storage, be sure to replace the engine oil
before starting up the engine.
Engine oil will deteri-
orate when the engine is kept out of operation.
