Door Weatherstrip
Success o f weatherstrip replacement depends entirely upon
the quality o f the cem ent used and the care with which it is
applied. All rust, road dirt and grease or oil must be com plete­
ly removed as should all old cement and bits o f old weather­
strip. After removing all foreign material from door opening
surface, wipe down with prepsol or its equivalent. Use only a
good quality cem ent which is made specially for weatherstrip
installation, following the manufacturer’s directions. Proceed
as follows:
1. Open door and block open.
2. Remove side door weatherstrip.
3. Remove used adhesive from door with adhesive or
cem ent remover.
4. Apply adhesive to door.
5. Install weatherstrip.
6. Trim weatherstrip with a notch as shown in Figure 13
and butt ends together.
Trim Panel, Arm Rest and Handles
Removal
1. Remove screws retaining arm rest to trim panel.
2. Remove door handles with Tool J-7797 and pull from
shaft.
3. Remove trim panel screws and remove panel. If seal is
damaged, replace seal.
Installation
1. Install trim panel.
2. Install arm rest. Install door handle washers and then
handles.

Door Ventilator Assembly
Removal
N O T E : The channel between the door w indow
glass and door vent is removed as part o f the vent
assembly.
1. R egulate the door w indow glass to the full dow n
position.
2. Remove door handles w ith Tool J-7797.
3. Remove trim panel.
4. Rem ove rear w indow run channel screws.
5. Slide door w indow glass rearw ard away from ventilator.
6. Rem ove three screws at th e u p p er fro n t o f the do o r (fig.
14).
7. T urn the vent assem bly 90° and carefully rem ove by
guiding up and o u t (fig. 15).
Installation
N O T E : Replace the door w indow glass and regu­
late to the fu ll dow n position before installing the
door ventilator assembly.
1. Low er the ven tilato r assembly in to th e door fra m e -
center into position.
2. Make certain the rubber lip is positioned before tighten­
ing screws.
3. Slide door glass forw ard engaging glass in vent channel.
4. Reinstall all screws and tighten.
5. Install and tighten the three screws at th e upper fro n t o f
the door.
Adjustm ent
6. A djust the ven tilato r adjusting n u t by turning clockwise
to increase operating tension (fig. 16).
7. A fter m aking adjustm ent b end tabs over the hex nu t.
8. Install trim panel.
9. Install do o r and w indow regulator handles.
