VA C U U M MOTOR REPLACEMENT
Removal
1. R em ove air cleaner from engine.
2. Drill o u t spot w elds fastening vacuum m o to r retaining
strap to snorkel tu b e .
3. Rem ove vacuum m o to r b y lifting and u n h ooking linkage
ro d from dam per door.
Replacement
1. Drill 7 /6 4 ” hole in snorkel tu b e a t center o f vacuum
m o to r retaining strap (Fig. 10A).
2. C onnect vacuum m o to r linkage to dam per door. F asten
retaining strap to air cleaner w ith sheet m etal screw.
3. R eplace air cleaner on engine and check o peration of
vacuum m o to r and co n tro l dam per assembly.
/ INSTALL REPLACEMENT
RETAINING STRAP SENSOR ASSM. IN SAME
POSITION AS ORIGINAL ASSM.

TEM PERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT
Removal
1. Rem ove air cleaner from engine and disconnect vacuum
hoses at sensor.
2. P ry up tabs o f sensor retaining clip (Fig. 11 A).
N O T E : Observe position o f sensor, new sensor
must be installed in this same position.
3. Rem ove clip and sensor fro m air cleaner.
Replacement
1. Install sensor and gasket assem bly in air cleaner in
position as n o te d above.
2. Press retaining clip on sensor. S upport the sensor on its
side to prevent damage to the control m echanism in the
center.
3. Install air cleaner on engine and connect vacuum hoses.
