Print job starts but nothing printed on the page
Check Point
Check Point
Has an ink tank run out of ink, or is the print
head clogged?
The print head could be clogged, damaged, or worn out,
or one more of the ink tanks could be out of ink.
First open the BJ Status Monitor and confirm that the ink
level of each ink tank is sufficient, and print a nozzle
check pattern to check the condition of the print head.
• What is the BJ Status Monitor?
• Printing a nozzle check pattern
• Cleaning the print head
• Replacing ink tanks
Check Point
Check Point
Has the printer been printing for a long
period?
Long print jobs occasionally cause the print head to
overheat. In order to protect the print head, the printer
will halt temporarily to allow the print head to cool. After
the print head has cooled, the print job will resume
automatically.
Cancel the print job at a good place to break. Press the
POWER button to switch the printer off, unplug the
printer and allow the print head to cool for at least 15
minutes.
• The print head and surrounding components
become extremely hot during operation. To
avoid minor burns, never touch the print
head or the area around it.
If colours are missing
or broken, clean the
print head
