Checking the operating environment of the computer

Before you call for servive, make sure you know the following:

• System version number

• Amount of memory installed

• Hard disk capacity and amount of free space

available

• Printer driver version number

●

Confirming the version number of the
operating system and amount of memory

Use this procedure to find the system version number
and memory capacity of your system.

1 Click the Start button, point to Settings, and click

Control Panel.

2 Double-click the System icon. When the System icon

is not displayed in Windows Me Control Panel, click
View all Control Panel options.

3 Click the General tab.

4 On the General sheet read the system version

number and amount of memory (RAM) installed.
