F86: calibrating the kinetic feed system
To calibrate the kinetic feed system, welding wire must be inserted.
Once communication is established between the welding power source and the mX Kinetic controller when
the system is first started, the position of the Wire Buffer KINETIC is automatically adjusted. The welding wire
is fed when the system calibration is performed.
The system calibration can also be readjusted by setting the internal function F86 to "ON" and switching the
welding power source’s mains switch on again. The value of F86 returns to "OFF" after readjustment.
The adjustment results can be confirmed by pressing the <Parameter selection> button. If the <Parameter
selection> button is pressed in standby mode, the digital display changes in the following sequence:
1. Run-on time
2. Adjustment result 1 (Sb1)
3. Adjustment result 2 (Sb2)
4. Adjustment result 3 (Sb3)
5. Adjustment result 4 (Sb4)
6. Lead time
If adjustment problems arise, contact the service department and have the aforementioned adjustment results
ready.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to rotating feed roller
Body parts, hair or clothing can be drawn in when the wire feeder’s feed roller rotates. This may result in
serious injuries.
► Do not reach into the feed roller.
► Do not wear loose fitting clothing or jewelry.
► Use a hair net for long hair.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to protruding welding wire
Welding wire can protrude quickly from the welding torch during the wire feed process. This may result in
serious puncture injuries.
► Do not look into the tip of the welding torch during the wire feed process.
► Do not hold the tip of the welding torch too close to your body.
