INSTALLATION OF REFLECTOR, SPARS, SUBREFLECTOR, AND FEED
CAUTION

When lifting and supporting subreflector,
exercise care to prevent damage to subreflector
formed surface. Any damage to this surface will
affect the performance of the subreflector.

9. Lift subreflector and adjust straps as necessary to level assembly a
few feet (a meter or so) above the ground.
10. Lubricate threads and shaft and install alignment tool (item 9) into
center of subreflector.
NOTE
Alignment tool (item 9) is used for subreflector alignment.
11. Align four mounting frame holes with subreflector mounting holes on
spars.
12. Secure subreflector to spars using four screws (110), eight washers
(item 104), and four nuts (item 106).
13. Remove hoist from subreflector and attach hoist to spars/subreflector
assembly.
14. Lift assembly into place on antenna spar mounting brackets.
15. Secure spars to antenna spar mounting brackets using eight screws
(item 101), eight washers (item 103), and eight nuts (item 105).
16. Torque fasteners to the following values and remove hoist.
3/4-inch Fasteners 260 ft-lbs (353 Nm)
5/8-inch Fasteners 150 ft-lbs (203 Nm)
1/2-inch Fasteners 76 ft-lbs (103 Nm)
17. Align subreflector for tilt and lateral adjustment using theodolite and
alignment tool (item 9) for reference.
18. Set subreflector distance as measured from feed/panel mounting
surface. The 18-meter distance is 194.69 inches or 4.95m (see Figure
4-8) and the 16-meter distance is 192.43 inches or 4.89m (see Figure
4-9).
19. After aligning subreflector, remove alignment tool (item 9) and install
domed screw (item 8).
